One of the best things about little girls is dressing them in tons of little outfits! Izzy seems to have some many cute clothes that she typically only wears them once or twice before growing out of them. I wanted to make sure I took some shots of some of my favorites and as you can see, she didn't mind at all! She's a little Fashion Diva and we LOVE it!
We had so much fun on Izzy's first 4th of July. Grandma and Grandpa G had a pool party at their house. We had lots of family and friends join us. It was a "blast!"
Every summer, our families participate and support the Utah Arts Festival and 5k Race. This was my first race since having Izzy. It was a great morning to run and everyone finished with really good times. My dad even took 2nd place in his age category! It's a great event and we always have a lot of fun running the race and seeing all of the creative artwork. www.uaf.org
If he could, Devan would buy Izzy a little miniature bodybug in a heartbeat. Instead, she offered moral support and even did a few exercises of her own while dad worked out on Father's Day weekend. We had the entire gym to ourselves (who else would work out on a Saturday night) so we took advantage of some photo ops!
We had an amazing time at Stein Eriksen lodge for Devan's first Father's Day! It was a relaxing and quiet weekend in the mountains. We were able to rest, watch movies, swim, and eat lots of junk food. The lodge offers a scrumptious brunch Sunday morning and the rainy weather cleared up just in time for pictures. Izzy was also great for this first family getaway. She will be an expert traveler some day.
For Devan's first Father's Day, we stayed the weekend at the fabulous Stein Eriksen lodge in Deer Valley. On Saturday morning, we decided to go for a mountain run- even through it was sprinkling a little bit. By the time we finished our 4 miles- it was POURING rain! Luckily, Izzy was warm and cozy in the jogger with the rain flap. However, Devan and I were soaked. Even though we were wet, we had an amazing time and the views were incredible. There was also a 184 mile relay race going on at the same time so we ran with several of the runners as they finished that particular leg of the course. The run was probably the most memorable- and fun- part of the entire weekend. We loved it!
Who would believe that our finance-guru Devan could also drive a tractor! Well, here's proof! Devan has done so much work in our back yard. Eventually, we'll have a playground, garden, grass and flower beds in the second half of the property. Izzy and I are SO excited!
Izzy's baptism was on May 31, 2009. Many of our family and friends shared this special day with us. One of Devan's high school teachers from Judge, Fr. McHugh, performed the ceremony at St. John the Baptist Church. Izzy slept for most of the mass but made sure to stretch her arms all the way above her head when she was introduced in front of the entire congregation. She only cried a little when they poured the water on her head. It was a wonderful day for us.
