It's Official

So, it's official- after about 5 weeks, Izzy started growing out of her newborn clothes and is wearing size 0-3 months. It's fun to put her in the new outfits that I have been staring at in her closet but it is a little crazy how fast she is growing. I could keep her this small forever- except for the sleepless nights! This picture shows one of her pj's that will be retired with the rest of her newborn wardrobe. I don't think she could even straighten her legs when I took it. It's amazing how fast time has already gone by!

My First Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was one of my favorite days this year. Devan, Izzy and I went for a run in the morning and then had brunch at the Grand America. It was wonderful spending this time with my new little family.

Grandparents

If nothing else, Izzy is definitely loved.

Tummy Time

Izzy typically spends 10-15 minutes per day in "Tummy Time." This helps her build upper body and neck strength. However, during this clip, she became a little distracted from the task at hand. Oh how good her hand must taste!

The Hula

Routine

The addition of little Izzy to the Garcia household has definitely changed our routine. Our very career-focused lives and the terms we use suddenly have new meaning. “Working late” now involves rocking our sweet Izzy until 2:00am when she is finally ready to sleep. “Power lunches” involve scarfing down a quick lunch with one hand while balancing and bouncing her with the other arm. “A good nights sleep”- well- I actually don’t know what that is anymore.

Despite all of the changes we really are settling into a routine now.

Izzy typically goes to bed around 11:00pm. (She’s a bit of a night owl like her mom.)
She will wake up for “first breakfast” around 3:30am. After an hour, she falls back to sleep for 2 hours. “Second breakfast” is at 6:30am and lasts till about 7:30am. We usually get one more hour of sleep and then she is ready to start her day around 8:30am- that is after she has had “third breakfast!”
